Penis Injury Quiz – Match the Cringe-worthy Act to the Pain

by

John Dugan

It’s hard to gather statistics on penis injuries. Men with sore peckers often neglect to make a doctor’s appointment because they’re just too embarrassed, but chances are, every guy out there has dealt with a painful penis at least once. And it’s likely that the problem came about due to something really common (and maybe something a little stupid).

This quiz contains a few common causes of penis soreness, along with symptoms that should prompt immediate penis care. Matching the injury to the incident could help men learn how to keep their own member just a little safer in the future.

The Symptoms

1.Tiny bits of skin trapped between two pieces of metal.

2.A popping sound, along with a big bruise and a whole lot of pain.

3.Skin looks scorched and boiled, and it’s intensely painful.

4.The tip of the penis is cracked and dry, and the whole unit looks red.

5.Sudden bleeding with pain.

The Actions

A. Hitting a bone during sex. An erect penis is flooded with blood, and in this state, the tissues are firm and inflexible. If a guy hits a partner’s bone during sex, that stiffened tissue can rupture, leading to severe pain. This type of injury is considered a medical emergency, as men often need surgery to fix the damage.

B. Getting dressed without underwear. Going commando means putting skin at risk of direct contact with a zipper, and sometimes, loose skin can get trapped and embedded. Typically, it’s best to go to the emergency room with these injuries, rather than wrestling with the clothing at home. Men with zipper trauma may need assistance removing the trapped flesh safely, as well as attention to caring for the torn skin.

C. Torn frenulum. This narrow band of skin connects the foreskin to the rest of the penis. In men who have been cut, only a tiny bit of it remains. Men who haven’t been cut can have much more difficulty with this tissue. During sex, the friction can become so strong that this little bit of tissue is stretched to the breaking point, and when it is, it can cause a significant amount of bleeding. Some men can heal alone at home, with no help from a doctor. But some men will need a little medical assistance in order to recover from this injury.

D. Excessive masturbation. Whanging away at the penis for hours on end can leave the skin feeling chafed and sore. Even when a guy uses a lube, the skin might cry out for relief when he’s been abusing the tool for too long. This sort of problem often goes away with rest and a little TLC, but men who have done a lot of damage might need to see a doctor, just to make sure they haven’t done long-term damage.

E. Using toothpaste, muscle crme or another unusual substance as masturbation lube. These substances can seem fun and exciting, but penile skin is sensitive, and it’s apt to react when it’s exposed to warming agents like menthol or capsaicin. Injuries like this tend to heal without a lot of attention or medical support, so men can often get by without seeing a doctor, but, they should call for advice if the pain is overwhelming.

Answer Key

1.B

2.A

3.E

4.D

5.C

The Lessons

The penis might be a whole lot of fun to play with, but this tool is also very sensitive, and it’s remarkably easy to injure. That’s why it pays to be careful with the penis, even if being careful means that the pleasure quotient is a little less intense.

Using a penis health crme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) could be a perfect addition to a careful lifestyle. Quality products contain the elements the tissues need to knit back together after an injury, and an emollient formula can keep skin soft and smooth, so it can resist abuse just a little easier.

New Zealand has relaxed the safety rules imposed on internal airlines in 2002, once more allowing passengers to carry pocket knives with blades less than 60mm long and knitting needles.

Other larger items remain banned, including ice-skates, pool cues, hockey sticks, skateboards, cricket bats and harpoons.

Other countries more at risk from terrorism such as the United States of America and Australia will maintain their stricter rules and continue to ban a range of small, sharp objects from their internal flights.

The airlines have also agreed to help return items seized from passengers before boarding.

Figures released by Simon Power, law and order spokesman for the National party, show that the New Zealand Labour led government lets 81% of all prisoners not do any work while in prison. Newspaper, Sunday News says that some Christchurch prisoners have been given a barbecue for good behavior.

Simon Power’s figures show that of the 7,612 prisoners only 19% (1,470) of them took part in Corrections Inmate Employment during 2006. But in 2005 it was at 23% and in 2004 it was at 26%. He says that the prisons with the least amount of inmates working are: Rolleston with 8.6%, Mount Eden with 8.7%, Rimutaka with 11%, Christchurch Women’s with 13.5% and Dunedin with 13.8%. Mr Power said: “These figures are an appalling indictment on this Government’s approach to prisoner rehabilitation and preparing them for release.”

“In May, Corrections Minister Damien O’Connor announced a strategy that he said would help in ‘significantly increasing the number of prisoners in work and training. But a week later this was shown to be nothing more than window dressing when the Budget increased funding for prisoner employment by a measly $336,000 – up 1%.”

“They have cut funding [on the Corrections Department] by 27% since 2001/02, from $46.5 million to $34 million.”

Mr Power blames the low work rate on the big prison construction budget of $490 million. “There would have been more than a miserable $336,000 extra to spend on effective rehabilitation and work schemes,” he said.

“[Mr O’Conner] seems happier to spend $11 million on landscaping four new prisons and allow prisoners to sit around playing Playstations and Xboxes on their flat-screen TVs than he is about helping them get better prepared for when they are released.”

“Prisoners should be doing meaningful work, training or study while they are in prisons, and I imagine the public would agree,” Mr Power added.

Mr Power, commenting on the barbecue, said: “These people are in prison because they were found to be in serious breach of the law. The victims of their crimes will be grossly offended by the idea that they are being rewarded for anything. This is the just the latest in a long line of incredibly bad decisions made by the Corrections Department over the past year and taxpayers have had enough.”

Bevan Hanlon, president for the Corrections Officers Association, said: “The Mobsters getting a BBQ was a “joke”. (Christchurch Prison) staff are reporting the smell of dope every day. Mobsters are threatening staff on a daily basis and there appears to be high cellphone use (mobile phones are banned in jail). So what happens? They are given a BBQ.”

Taylor Swift’s Evermore album has returned to the top position on the Billboard 200 chart this week, after an 8307% increase in sales. Evermore, which was released in December, only had its vinyl edition issued on May 28, although preorders were available from the moment of the album’s release.

In the week ending on June 3, Evermore sold 192 thousand copies, setting the record for the biggest sales week of the year. Billboard credited the rise of Evermore back to No. 1 to a number of factors, including “modern-era record-breaking vinyl LP sales — 102 thousand — Swift-signed CDs and deep discounting on its digital album”. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums in the United States on a weekly basis, combining album sales and streaming.

This one hit me hard. I’m so in my feelings (more so than usual!) over what you all did here for Evermore. Blown away by how much you care, and how long we’ve been caring about each other…Love you, so very much.

In this week’s chart, Evermore jumped from 74 to 1, marking the biggest jump to the number 1 position since Radiohead’s In Rainbows went from 156 to 1. Since then, three albums have also re-entered the chart at no. 1, the most recent of which was Bon Jovi’s This House Is Not for Sale on the March 10, 2018 chart, caused by a bundling of concert tickets with the album. Evermore broke the record for the biggest sales week for a vinyl album, having initially sold over 40 thousand copies from May 28 to May 31 to edge out the previous record holder, Jack White’s Lazaretto. By the end of the week, Evermore had sold 102 thousand vinyl copies.

The delay of Evermore’s vinyl release is due to the length of time vinyl records take to produce. As Evermore was only announced a day before its release, it is likely that there was not sufficient time before its release to complete the production of physical editions of the album, including vinyl editions. In other countries where Evermore hit no. 1 upon its December release, it also recieved a boost. On the United Kingdom’s Official Albums Chart Top 100, Evermore jumped 70 spots to the no. 4 position. Australia’s ARIA Top 50 Albums chart saw Evermore go up nine spots to no. 38. In New Zealand, Evermore was one of the fastest rising titles on the Official Top 40 Albums chart, re-entering at no. 30.

Countertop and Bath Tub Refinishing: Affordable Solutions for Eco-Friendly Remodels

by

Maria Allen

For the environmentally conscious homeowner, remodeling can pose a serious dilemma. If it\’s time to update your outmoded bathroom or you need to upgrade those seriously shabby kitchen countertops, you can find yourself struggling with the choice between living with the old or generating a lot of waste to make room for the new… But did you know there is an alternative to tearing out countertops, tubs, and showers to start over. Read on to learn about countertop and tub refinishing techniques that can help you reduce remodeling waste and even save a few bucks at the same time.

It\’s no secret that renovations create a big mess and, unfortunately, a lot of waste. But most people don\’t realize just how much this kind of debris impacts our environment. Did you know that remodeling and construction waste accounts for around 25% to 30% of the nation\’s annual municipal landfill volume? That\’s a lot of junk just piled up to molder away. Knowing how much rubbish a remodel can generate can be a bit of a hindrance, especially when you\’re focused on the health of our planet as well as getting your home or office updated.

However, tearing out the old to install the new isn\’t the only way to address your bathroom and kitchen remodeling needs–even if you have a harvest gold tub or a pink tile floor leftover from the 80s. Ceramic and porcelain tile, tubs and showers, sinks, commodes, and countertops can all be resurfaced through a simple etching and refinishing process. These steps allow you to change the color, repair damaged areas, address staining, and all-around revitalize the look of your kitchen countertops or bathroom fixtures, all without any demolition. By refreshing the tile and fixtures you already have, you can get a great new look minus the demolition waste, hassle, and mess.

And, best of all, refinishing options typically offer major savings over demolition and new installation. In fact, tile refinishing often costs a mere 20% of the price of new tile installation. That means you get the beautiful new look you want for your shower or floor, you generate practically zero waste from the renovation, and you save up to 80%! It\’s a win-win situation all around.

So if you\’re concerned about going green for your commercial or residential bathroom or kitchen renovation, don\’t just accept that tons (perhaps literally!) of construction debris is in your future. Explore the possibility of countertop refinishing and other types of tile and tub refinishing

options to maximize your savings, minimize your debris, and all-around make a great choice for your property and the planet.

According to the Japanese Defense Ministry, North Korea has fired a short-range missile today into the Sea of Japan. Officials believed it to be part of a regular exercise.

“North Korea fired a short-range missile in what appeared to be part of a military drill,” a Japanese Defense Ministry official was quoted as saying by Yonhap News Agency.

A South Korean defense spokesman said such tests are routine.

“We don’t deny that North Korea fired a missile,” South Korean Army Colonel Ha Doo-chul, told Yonhap. “If it did, we regard it as a routine exercise.”

The test comes at the time when North Korea is inviting inspectors in to discuss its nuclear programs.

Aluminum edge trim is versatile, long lasting, and customizable – a good choice for your finishing project. Not all edge trim made from aluminum is created equal, so here are a few things to help you check the quality before you buy, to help ensure you get the results you want.

 1. Materials: high quality aluminum ingot will outperform scrap or recycled materials. Ask for manufacturing details from a trusted supplier. Note that some cement materials become alkaline when wet, and because aluminum may corrode when exposed to alkaline substances, it will be important to remove grout or mortar from the visible areas of your aluminum edge trim.
 2. Hardness: use a tool like the Webster Hardness Tester to tell you how resistant the edge trim is to compressive force. You’ll get a reading on the Rockwell scale and you’ll be looking for a rating of at least 8HW.
 3. Strength: your sample should test ok for tensile strength, elongation and yield strength. Tensile testing, for example, involves using a tensometer, increasing force gradually until the sample breaks.
 4. Smoothness: a high quality edge trim should be scratch and mark free, with no die lines. However, scratches and marks once the trim is installed may be unavoidable, depending on the application.
 5. Color: check whether your edge trim has been subject to anodizing, organic paint or powder coatings. Anodized trim can exhibit uneven color characteristics but this is not necessarily a quality issue. Where you plan to use your trim will help you determine which colorant method is appropriate, and your supplier should be able to advise you on color quality. If your trim will be exposed to any corrosive materials, anodized color may not last as long as the paint or powder, but it depends on a number of factors such as pre-treatment, and whether the color was factory applied. Any color application method can be expected to break down under UV exposure from the sun.

Where Aluminum Edge Trim is UsedEdge trim made from aluminum is a popular product for protecting the edges of shelving, countertops and tables and it provides a neat and tidy finish. For elegant transitions, it can be used as a skirting board for the transition between wall and floor, or anywhere you wish to transition between tile and concrete resin, wood to carpet, or carpet to tile.

In a 7-2 decision handed down on Monday, the US Supreme Court struck down California’s violent video game law and ruled that video games are protected speech covered by the First Amendment. The California law banned the sale and rental of violent video games to minors.

The underlying question was whether the violence in video games has the ability to affect children more than violence in other media, such as books, movies, plays and other forms of entertainment.

Video games qualify for First Amendment protection. Like protected books, plays, and movies, they communicate ideas through familiar literary devices and features distinctive to the medium.

Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, said that depictions of violence have never been regulated by the US government. Thus violent videos are not to fall under government control as does pornography but is to be accorded the same First Amendment protections as other forms of entertainment. The sale of violent video games is not to be criminalized and California’s attempt to do so was “unprecedented and mistaken.” Scalia noted, referring to fairy tales, that “the books we give children to read—or read to them when they are younger—contain no shortage of gore.”

[T]he books we give children to read—or read to them when they are younger—contain no shortage of gore.

The beginning of the decision states, “Video games qualify for First Amendment protection. Like protected books, plays, and movies, they communicate ideas through familiar literary devices and features distinctive to the medium. And ‘the basic principles of freedom of speech…do not vary’ with a new and different communication medium.”

“The most basic principle—that government lacks the power to restrict expression because of its message, ideas, subject matter, or content, Ashcroft v. American Civil Liberties Union, 535 U. S. 564, 573—is subject to a few limited exceptions for historically unprotected speech, such as obscenity, incitement, and fighting words. But a legislature cannot create new categories of unprotected speech simply by weighing the value of a particular category against its social costs and then punishing it if it fails the test.”

The justices were not convinced by the existing research that the interactive nature of video games pose a greater risk to society because of their interactive nature. None of the results of the existing research put before the court showed that violent games cause violent behavior. “Psychological studies purporting to show a connection between exposure to violent video games and harmful effects on children do not prove that such exposure causes minors to act aggressively. Any demonstrated effects are both small and indistinguishable from effects produced by other media. Since California has declined to restrict those other media, e.g., Saturday morning cartoons, its video-game regulation is wildly under-inclusive, raising serious doubts about whether the State is pursuing the interest it invokes or is instead disfavoring a particular speaker or viewpoint.”

According to Nadine Kaslow, professor and chief psychologist at Emory University Department of Psychology and Grady Hospital, the evidence regarding the effects of violent video games is mixed. While there is evidence to suggest that exposure of children to violence results in more aggressive and less pro-social behavior, some studies show there is no negative effect, she said. She point out that toy guns were popular and parents monitored whether toy guns were allowed in the home.

This ruling does not prevent private retailers from placing restrictions on their sale of video games. The video game industry currently has its own rating system, much like that used for movies, and educates retailers in using the rating system to prevent minors from buying mature-rated games. According to PC World the industry’s compliance is better than that of other entertainment industries. Further, parental controls have been added to game consoles.

The view of the Entertainment Software Association that a better strategy is the education of parents rather than court battles.
